Trick or Treat Parade Participants

Halloween Trick or Treat Parade

Get your tickets before they're gone!  Canton's Trick or Treat Parade returns to the Summit on the Park on Friday, October 26, from 5-8 p.m. Children of all ages are encouraged to attend in costume and follow the spooktacular path from room to room, each filled with special surprises and little goodies. 

The parade features a not-so-scary walk along our trick or treat path that ends with an optional scary Haunted House, which may not be suitable for younger children.  Parents are responsible for the direct supervision of their children during this special event. Tickets will only be sold in advance of the event from now through October 25 per child for $6 for Summit members, $7 for Canton residents and for $11 for Non-Residents. A limited amount of fast pass tickets for designated timeslots will be available for purchase for an additional $1 per ticket at the Summit Front Desk, while supplies last. Please note that all ticket sales will end October 25 at 10 p.m. Kids of all ages planning to trick or treat and collect goodies during the event must have a ticket to receive a collection bag. For additional information about this event, call 734/394-5460.

Monster Mash at The Village Theater

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., The Village Theater at Cherry Hill invites those 21 and over to dance the night away on our stage in a unique Adult Halloween Party! This special event will feature Top 40 Hits and Halloween covers by Atomic Radio.  Guests can also participate in games, a costume contest, cash bar and refreshments.  Audience members will be treated to a unique experience as the main focus of the event will be a dance party on the main stage, where there will be a bar and tables for seating in between dancing. Village Theater Coming Attractions

The Village Theater at Cherry Hill 2018-2019 season promises a mix of everything from a bourbon-themed music event to hoop-jumping cats to the return of the side-splittingly funny The Second City Tour. Tickets for the season are on sale now online here by calling 734/394-5300, or in person at The Village Theater Box Office Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Farmers Market Fall Offerings

Fall has officially arrived at the Canton Farmers Market! delicious fresh cider, a variety of apples, pumpkins, squash, and mums! Visit the Market every Sunday through October 14 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., rain or shine, at Preservation Park, located at 500 N. Ridge Road.  The Canton Farmers Market Master Gardener Volunteer Group will be hosting a fall perennial exchange October 7. This is a great time to clean up the garden, divide some plants to exchange and bring them to the Master Gardener tent during the Farmers Market to swap them for something new. Plants should be healthy and in a labeled container. All this and live entertainment, a market kids’ crafts, tours of the historic Bartlett-Travis House and more are available at this great weekend destination! Canton Holiday Artisan Market

Mark your calendars because the Canton Farmers Market will hold its First annual Holiday Artisan Market on Saturday, November 3 at the Summit on the Park.  This special market will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature a variety of handmade merchandise from local vendors to help you kick off your holiday shopping.  Admission into the Artisan Market is just $1 per person and will be donated to a local charity. Safe, Sound, Secure Seminar for Seniors

All Canton seniors are invited to learn more about personal safety during this popular Canton Club 55+ program, which will be held on Wednesday, November 7, from 12-3 p.m. at the Summit on the Park.  Presented by Canton Public Safety, this free informative seminar will help you learn new techniques to keep you and your family safe. Pheasant Run Fall Rates

Golf is still in full swing at Pheasant Run Golf Club and fall rates are now in effect. Enjoy 18 holes Monday through Friday for $39 per person with a cart and on Saturday and Sunday for $48.  Senior and Junior rates for Monday through Friday for 18 holes are $29. Canton Fine Arts Exhibition 

The 26th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition is now on display at the Gallery@VT through October 27, bringing together works of some of the best artists from throughout southeastern Michigan. This year's exhibit features 40 works in a variety of mediums:  Oil, Acrylic, Photography, Cutwork, Ink Stippling, Colored Pencil, Woodcut, Watercolor, Porcelain, Graphite, Inks, Charcoal, Conte/Pastel, Pen & Ink, Sculpture, Silverpoint & Mixed Media.  A special Artist Reception will be held on Thursday, October 4 from 6:30-9:00 p.m., that is free and open to the public.  Presented by the Canton Commission for Culture, Arts & Heritage, this exhibit featuring artists' chosen works will be on display during the month of October weekdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., during all public performances, or by calling 734/394-5308, for an appointment.  For additional information, please visit www.cantonvillagetheater.org. 

Annual Salute To Service Event Returns

Canton is proud to honor area servicemen and women who have served and are currently serving in our Armed Forces.  Join us as we salute all veterans, living and deceased and especially those currently serving in harm's way.  The public is encouraged to attend this FREE community event on Sunday, November 11 starting at 7 p.m. at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road.  Doors will open at 6 p.m.  In an effort to show our ongoing support of these dedicated individuals, we are asking for email submissions of name, rank and branch of service of area servicemen and women who are either currently serving in the military, veterans, or those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and have given their life in the line of duty. Turkey Trot and Other Sports Opportunities

Registration is now open for the Turkey Trot 5K, Adult Volleyball Teams and Spring Youth Lacrosse.  Coed Competitive Volleyball will begin on Friday, November 2 at Summit on the Park. Coed Recreational Volleyball starts on Sunday, January 6. Canton’s own 16th annual Turkey Trot 5 K and 1K will be held Thanksgiving morning, winding through Pheasant Run golf course and Heritage Park. This annual event will once again benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan   Lacrosse for Grades 2-8 will again start this spring, however, registration will close in mid-January or when filled. Summit Swim Lessons

Start your school year off with a splash this fall by enrolling your little one for swim lessons at the Summit on the Park, which offers year-round lessons in our indoor Aquatic Center.  The next session for Parent Child and Preschool Swim Lessons will start the week of October 28.  Our aquatic programs are designed to teach basic water safety skills to children 6 months to 5 years of age.  Register today online here or call 734/394-5460 for additional information.
