"Summit Shape Up for Summer" Membership Special

Are you looking for a short-term fitness center membership to get in shape for the summer? Then, be sure to take advantage of the Summit on the Park’s ‘Shape Up For Summer’ membership special and save! Community Connection Day

April 14 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Area residents with disabilities and their families are invited to get know Canton Public Safety First Responders during this FREE event on Saturday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway.  Meet first responders including: Canton's police officers, paramedics, firefighters and more.  Community Connection Day participants of all ages will enjoy a hands-on public safety display.  This program is presented in partnership with Canton Public Safety, Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, and Canton Therapeutic Recreation. Free MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Competition

April 17 
MLB and Scotts are teaming up to present this annual contest, which is open to girls and boys ages 7-14.  Players will compete on April 17 at 6 p.m. at the Canton Sports Center, located at 45555 W. Michigan Avenue. Qualifiers will move on to sectional competition and winners will continue to compete up to the MLB All Star Game.  Players will be competing in three contests: pitching, hitting and running the bases. Mom to Mom Sale

April 21 from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Looking for a few good deals on children's clothes, toys, and more?  Look no further!  The Summit on the Park will be hosting a Mom to Mom Sale in the gymnasium on April 22. Find over 65 booths featuring gently used baby and kids clothing, shoes, and everything for videos to car seats, baby bottles to raincoats, cribs to strollers in the gym from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. - all at a fraction of the cost if items were new! Check out all the "new-to-you" items available! Admission is $2 (8-9am), $1 (after 9am). Mark your calendars today!

Winter Market - April 22

The last Winter Market will be held on Sunday, April 22, in the Summit on the Park lobby, located at 46000 Summit Parkway.  Market hours are from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Over a dozen local vendors will be featured.

Village Theater Performances

Kiran Ahluwalia will present “LOVEfest: Welcome the Stranger”, bringing exceptional performances of both traditional and modern arts from the Sikh and Muslim cultures to create a positive curiosity at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 7 p.m.
Kiran Ahluwalia’s LOVEfest combines the talents of sacred and secular artists from both Muslim and Sikh traditions (two communities currently experiencing an alarming rise in hate crimes.)  Featuring the passionate vocals of Kiran Ahluwalia (from India), inspired Arabic songwriting of Souad Massi (Algeria), combined with traditional Sikh temple singers and the colorful whirling of Egyptian Tanoura Sufi dancers, LOVEfest illuminates a diverse world of cultural artistic expression; offering performers and audiences alike an opportunity to “Welcome the Stranger”.

Village Theater Gallery Call for Artists

The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is currently accepting proposals for solo or group exhibitions for the 2019 exhibition season.  The deadline for submissions is April 12, 2018. All media will be considered. Submission will be juried by an exhibition committee comprised of local artists, arts professionals, and art educators. Please be advised that you are ineligible if you have had a Solo Exhibition at the Gallery@VT within the last 5 years. Submissions are due by April 12, 2018. Our gallery is free and open to the public Monday-Friday from 10am-2pm, during public performances and by calling 734/394-5300 for an appointment. 8th Annual Canton Acts of Culture Week

Canton will once again showcase arts and culture during the 8th annual Canton Acts of Culture Week will run May 12-20, 2018.  This exciting week-long celebration, presented by the Canton Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage, will feature a variety of cultural offerings available at various locations throughout Canton.  Community members are encouraged to “sample” the variety of events, including the following special presentations:

A Night In Paris Trivia Fundraiser

Put on your thinking caps for a good cause!  Chicks 4 Charity will be hosting a special trivia fundraiser on Thursday, May 3, to benefit Canton’s Lead #LikeAGirl scholarship program. Teams of up to six people will square off for bragging rights and cash prizes at Fellows Creek Golf Club, located at 2936 S. Lotz Road.
