So much is happening in Canton this winter! Check out some of the exciting events coming up for December!

Canton's Annual Tree Lighting

Area residents are invited to attend Canton's Annual Tree Lighting Event, which promises to be bigger and better than ever. Join us Wednesday, December 7 from 6-8:30 p.m. for an evening of holiday fun. Starting off the night, we will welcome Santa all the way from the North Pole who will help Canton Supervisor Pat Williams light our official holiday tree, sponsored by Toll Brothers, outside the Summit on the Park's Banquet Center entrance. Additional outdoor activities will included entertainment, live reindeer, and an ice carving competition. Activity wristbands will be available at the door for $3 per child for Canton residents and $4 per child for non-residents and include indoor activities, such as: cookie decorating, arts and crafts, holiday shows, and a visit with Santa.  For those who would like to get a jump start on some holiday shopping, stop by the Holiday Marketplace, located in the Summit Banquet Lobby, where you’ll find unique items that will make perfect gifts and stocking-stuffers; so bring your wallets!  What a festive way to kick off the holiday season!

Swim with Santa

Swim with Santa

This year, start your holiday celebration off with a splash and Swim with Santa Claus on Saturday, December 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Summit Aquatic Center, located at 46000 Summit Parkway.  Participants will receive a commemorative photo taken with Santa and will have a chance to share their holiday wish list the big man in red!  Tickets are available online for $14 for Summit members, $18 for Canton residents, and $24 for non-residents.  For additional information, call 734/394-5460. 

Holiday Celebration at Canton Club 55+

Seniors, mark your calendars for a special Holiday Celebration on Wednesday, December 14 at from 12 – 3 p.m. in the Summit's Walnut Room. This very popular event will include a delicious luncheon prepared by Katherine's Catering, door prizes, hot chocolate bar, plus sounds of the season. Tickets are available at the Summit Front Desk or at Club 55+ and are $17 for Summit members; $19 for residents and $24 for non-residents.This event is sponsored in part by Regency of Canton and Heartland. For more information, contact Canton Club 55+ at 734/394-5485.


Daddy Daughter Dance

Butterfly Ball Tickets on December 1st!

Canton’s Valentine’s tradition returns on February 10 and 11 to the Summit on the Park, offering a unique experience and plenty of special memories! Dads and daughters can enjoy an evening of dancing, refreshments, a special butterfly souvenir, and the highly anticipated- balloon drop that caps off the festivities. Choose from three dances: February 10 at 6:30 p.m.; and February 11 at 2 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. All three dances will all be held in the Summit Gymnasium this year. Tickets are on sale starting December 1st for Canton residents and will be available to nonresidents starting January 18th. All ticket sales will end on February 1st. Tickets are just $10.50 for residents and $13.50 for non-residents. Dads and daughters, regardless of age, are required to purchase a ticket to attend. Detroit Circus

Detroit Circus returns to Canton 

Back by popular demand, the Detroit Circus returns to Canton’s Village Theater for a special New Year’s Eve performance on Saturday, December 31, at 7 p.m. See high flying aerial antics on fabric and the trapeze; fire dancing and eating; stilt walking and stilt acrobatics; and feats of mind-bending strength. Enjoy special Pre-Show activities featuring face painting, temporary tattoos, and strolling circus entertainers starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 for all ages and includes: popcorn, a non-alcoholic beverage and Pre-Show activities. Larry Callahan & Selected of God 

Performing at the Village Theater on January 21, Larry Callahan & Selected of God will bring their high-energy and award-winning Gospel Choir to the main stage.  This popular group has been together for over 10 years and has traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada ministering the Gospel, the Good News of Christ. Their exposure in the 2011 Chrysler 200 Commercial garnered them countless opportunities in television and film, making it to the quarter finals on Season 10 of America’s Got Talent in 2015. The choir has returned to the studio releasing their third compact disc, Evolution II, as the premier artists on Sing2Praise Records. Canton Historical Society: 4th Annual Christmas Tea

Take a step back in time and enjoy a holiday afternoon tea at Canton’s historical Bartlett-Travis House on Saturday, December 17 from 1 - 3 p.m. Relax and enjoy the venue conversation, special music by harpist Laurel Federbush, and, of course, the tea and wonderful foods. Guests will be served an assortment of teas, mini-sandwiches, breads with spreads, fruit salad, and desserts. Information about the historical house decorated in circa 1900 holiday elegance will be provided, as well as unique displays from the Canton Historical Society’s Museum collections. Tickets are $25 per person and are available only at the Summit on the Park. 


Get Unlimited Golf at PRGC in 2017

Golf may be over for this season, but it's never too early to plan for next year's time on the links; especially when savings are involved!  Purchase an Annual Pass at Pheasant Run Golf Club between now and December 16, and save 10% off the full pass price. Annual golf passes allow for unlimited golf with cart and range use throughout the year. Passes are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Volleyball Registration - Canton Sports Center

Boys Lacrosse Grades 3-8 Sign-Up Underway

Registration for Spring Boys Lacrosse is now open.  No experience necessary.  With limited spots available, players are encouraged to register before December 31, 2016. If you’re looking to consistently maintain an optimal level of physical wellbeing, choose from a wide array of registered specialty fitness classes that will keep you on track to meet your fitness goals.  Choose from: cardio cycling, Zumba®, yoga and more! Class costs vary based on program and length. Registration can be done online or in person at the Summit.
