Wondering what to do with the kids this summer? Want to have them leave those electronics behind and have them experience new and exciting adventures? Canton's Camp Fair is the perfect place to come and see what Canton Leisure Services has to offer. We will have several representatives from traditional summer camps to weekly camps to summer programming all in one place. In addition, fun activities will be available for the kids.  Mark your calendars!

Canton Farmers Market

Winter Market - March 20

Our next Winter Market will be held on Sunday, March 20 in the Summit on the Park lobby, located at 46000 Summit Parkway. The last Winter Market of the season is scheduled for April 17.  Market hours are from 10am - 2pm. Over a dozen local vendors will be featured.

Michigan goods available include: baked goods, farm-raised meats, bread, produce and more. Additional information is available here, as well as www.facebook.com/cantonfarmersmarket.

Indoor Triathlon

March 20 at 7am
Looking for a reason to keep up your training indoors?  Enjoy competing in our 2nd Annual Indoor Triathlon!  Participants will complete a 10-minute swim, 30-minute bike,
and a 20-minute run with 10-minute transition times between each event. Registration deadline is March 13.  For registration fee, or to sign up, visit www.summitonthepark.org

Mom to Mom Sale

April 30 from 9am-1pm
Looking for a few good deals?  Look no further!  The Summit on the Park will be hosting a Mom to Mom Sale in the gymnasium on April 30.  Check out all the "new-to-you" items available! Admission is $2 (8-9am), $1 (after 9am).  Interested in selling old toys and outgrown clothes?  Booths are still available for rent.  Choose a 9x6 for $20 or a 10x10 for $25.  Email Julie Allen for information. 

Canton’s Home Expo comes to the Summit March 7 and 8

Canton’s annual Home Improvement Expo will be held next month on Saturday, March 5 from 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday, March 6 from 10 am - 3 pm at Canton’s Summit on the Park. Highlights at this year’s Expo include; free parking and refreshments; a live broadcast from Joe Gagnon “The Appliance Doctor” on 1600 WAAM; live wood carving demonstrations; a hands-on children’s’ project center; and multiple raffles throughout the weekend, including wood projects made by Canton Construction along with the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters. Summit activities and classes will be limited. 

Chinese Spring Festival

The Chinese Festival Subcommittee of the Multicultural Committee is proud to present a Chinese Spring Festival. An evening of Folk & Classical Dances performed by Metro Detroit Area dance schools, brilliant vocal performances by Soloist, Shuping MA, beautiful duets, and the PCCLS Choir, March Wind Choir, AM Choir and Michigan Chinese Choir. Our special program will also feature pop music by the Desert Band, a Chinese Fashion Show, Yo-Yo performance and a Guzheng performance. Please come at 6 pm for a cookies and punch pre-show reception and cultural displays in our lobby. $5 per person.


Easter Egg-citement!

Join us for two fun-filled events on Saturday, March 19 at the Summit on the Park.  Start the morning off with the Easter Bunny Breakfast from 9-11am in the Summit Grand Ballroom.  Tickets can be purchased at the Summit Front Desk (they will not be available at the door).   $15.25R/$18.25NR for 13 years and up, $10.25R/$12.25NR for 4-12 year olds, $4.25R/$5.25NR for 3 years and under.  Registration deadline is March 12 at 8pm.  
The Easter Eggstravaganza will follow from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at Heritage Park.  On site registration will be available for $3 per child/$4 per child NR, ages up to 11 years.  Continuous egg hunts will run between 10:30 am – 12:30 pm to help keep the “hunting” fair for even our littlest participants.

Youth Baseball and Softball Leagues

Greater Canton Youth Baseball and Softball Association (GCYBSA) will accept registration for its Spring 2016 season from January 10 through March 15, 2016 for girls and boys ages 4-18. Programs include, Small Ball, T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Kid Pitch, and Girls Softball. Rookie Baseball at the Canton Sports Center

May 4-June 8
Take your child out to the ballpark!  Swing away during this introductory baseball program.  This adult-child class gives parents and players an opportunity to learn the basics of throwing, catching, and hitting using age appropriate skill building equipment.  Register online at cantonfun.org, or call the Canton Sports Center 734/483-5600.

Dog Park

Dog Park

Spring is closing in and with the melting snow comes muddy conditions.  Keep an extra towel on hand to help with wiping down Fido and be sure to use extra precaution when maneuvering through muddy pathways.  In addition, please be sure to renew your Dog Park Membership by April 1 to avoid key fob interruption.  If you haven’t done so already, check out our Dog Park Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cantonmidogpark.

Golf Update

Dust off your clubs!  Pheasant run is preparing for spring!  Opening date is projected to be Saturday, March 26, weather permitting.   Senior golf league is now forming 2 player teams that will compete weekly for prizes starting in May. Visit Pheasant Run online for details.
