Summit Facility Updates Good News! The Summit on the Park will be re-instituting Sunday hours of operation starting September 12th from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. From that day moving forward, Summit land fitness classes will also be available on Sundays, including: Yoga with Natalie at 9 a.m.; Total Body with Joe at 10:15 a.m.; and Zumba with Sarah at 11:30 a.m. Please note that the Aquatic Center will not be opened on Sundays, due to staffing levels, but is expect to re-introduce Sunday hours sometime in early October.
Kids' Corner Child Care Services ReturnStarting Tuesday, September 7th, Kids' Corner will be open for business during the following times: Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For the safety of all participants and staff in the Kids’ Corner, the following guidelines are in place until further notice: - All children ages 4 and older must wear a face mask at all times.
- All participants 2-3 years old are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask while in the Kids’ Corner area.
- Kids’ Corner staff are required to wear a face mask at all times
- Enhanced cleaning of touch points, toys, and other items has been currently implemented
- For the health and safety of all participants and staff, sick children will not be admitted to Kids’ Corner
No Official Annual Summit Maintenance Shutdown This YearPlease be advised that the Summit on the Park has cancelled its annual shutdown this September. In years past, the Summit closed for Annual Maintenance beginning Labor Day afternoon and typically reopened the following Saturday. Since there will be no Annual Maintenance Shutdown this year, the Summit will remain open to its members and guests. While the entire facility will not be closing for a week this September, there will be intermittent and modified closures to various sections of the building for renovations and improvements this fall.
Please note that the Summit’s Gymnasium and Track maintenance closing schedule has been revised as follows: Both the Gym & Track will be closed starting Monday, September 6th and are expected to re-open on Monday, September 13th. It is anticipated that the Fitness Center will remain open during operational hours.

Summit Swim Lessons are BACK!The wait is over! Summit on the Park swim lessons are returning this fall. Registration will start September 1 for Fall Session 1 (classes run September 13-October 30) and Fall Session 2 (classes run November 1-December 18). Our aquatic programs are designed to teach basic water safety skills to individuals ages 6 months to adults. Private lessons, youth, and teen/adult courses will be offered in a limited capacity. These Open Swim times are available for our members and daily drop-in guests. All pools will be open for play, including the Lap pool, Leisure pool, Lazy River, and Water Slide. Register online or call 734/394-5460 today! - Group Fitness Classes: Summit members will have complete access to all group fitness classes free of charge as part of their current Summit membership. Non-members may take fitness classes for $7/class. A current Summit membership, punch card or daily pass is required to participate.
- Specialty Group Fitness: These classes are a smaller class setting for even more individualized attention. Classes include: Barre, Lifting Ladies, Intermediate Yoga, and Yo-Chi! Specialty fitness classes run 6-week sessions with a fee of $49 per session for Summit members.

Classes, Programs & Special Community EventsThere are plenty of exiting classes, events and activities happening in Canton during September and October. This ceremony will be led by Canton Supervisor Anne Marie Graham-Hudak, who will also be joined by Canton Elected Officials and Board of Trustee members. In addition, this ceremony will feature the Canton Fire Department Honor Guard, remarks from Canton Public Safety staff, a musical tribute by Devyn Rae, a moment of silence, as well as comments from area organizations whose cultures have seen a recent rise in hate crimes.
Area residents are invited to attend Canton's Picnic in the Park on Friday, September 24 from 5-9 p.m. in Heritage Park. Last 'Bites for the Barn' Community Dinner of the Season The last al fesco dinner will be held on Tuesday, September 14, from 6-8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now through September 10 for this final Community Fundraiser Dinner of the season at Preservation Park, located on 500 N. Ridge Road.
