Canton Spring Story Hop

Hop to it on Saturday, April 10, and head on over to Heritage Park for Canton Leisure Services’ Spring Hop Around the Story Trail. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants can enjoy a spring story and treats along the way, as well as a photo opportunity with our mascot, Bartlett the Beaver! Pre-registration is required, so sign up today for a time slot. Fees are $3 per child for Canton residents and $4 per child for non-residents. Please note: All participants, including children 5 years and older, are required to wear a face mask while participating in this event and social distancing will be observed. Off Season Farmers Market - April 18

The last off season Farmers Market will be held on Sunday, April 18, in the Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway.  If weather permits, the Farmers Market will be held in the parking lot. Market hours are from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Over a dozen local vendors will be featured. Michigan goods available, include: baked goods, farm-raised meats, bread, produce and more. Please note: All participants, including children 5 years and older, are required to wear a face mask, while participating in this event and social distancing will be observed. Additional information is available here, as well as www.facebook.com/cantonfarmersmarket

Canton's Annual Fishing Derby

One of Canton's longest-running traditions returns on Saturday, May 1, 2021, with a new look! Join us at the ponds of Heritage Park from either 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 1 - 4 p.m. for this family-friendly event. Fees are $7 for Canton residents and $9 for non-residents.  Tickets are available for purchase starting April 19. Pre-registration is required.  Please note: All participants, including children
5 years and older, are required to wear a face mask while participating in this event and social distancing will be observed.

Mom to Mom Sale Returns

Are your kids’ clothing and toys taking up too much space in your basement?  Sell your gently-used items and go home with some money in your pocket at Canton’s Mom to Mom Sale on Saturday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot of the Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway.  Booth sales begin online on April 12 starting at 10 a.m.  Please note, due to the changing COVID-19 guidelines, elements of this event may change and will be updated at www.cantonfun.org. 

How Do You Spell Canton Graphic

Letter Art Photography Contest 

The Canton Commission for Culture, Arts, and Heritage invites area residents to participate in its upcoming ‘How Do You Spell C.A.N.T.O.N.?’ Letter Art Photography Contest by entering their original artwork now through September 6, 2021 for a chance to win a fun prize. Canton residents or groups with at least one Canton resident are asked to take pictures in the Canton community to create a unique sign spelling out C.A.N.T.O.N. for a chance to win a gift basket featuring a variety of gift cards valued at over $100!  Participants are encouraged to photograph businesses, offices, landscapes, art, found items in nature, and any signs/symbols that represent each letter in the name Canton. Bark in the Park

On Sunday, May 16, dog owners and their pets are encouraged to attend “Bark in the Park” at the Canton Dog Park, located on Denton Road, just north of Cherry Hill Road.  From 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. participants along with their four-legged friends can enjoy live entertainment, as well as purchase merchandise and receive free give-a-ways from local pet supply and service vendors. Both members of the Dog Park and non-members are encouraged to let their dogs experience this off-leash dog park during the free event. *Note non-dog park members must show proof of up-to-date vaccination for rabies and DHLPP, which is signed by an accredited veterinarian. The event is free for all ages, although due to the pandemic, online pre-registration for a time slot is required beginning April 15. Please note: All participants, including children 5 years and older, are required to wear a face mask while participating in this event and social distancing will be observed.  In addition, elements of the event may have required modifications due to shifts in the pandemic. Canton's Spring/Summer Tennis Programs Now Registering

Looking for affordable tennis lessons? Let Canton help guide you and your family through the journey of learning and playing this amazing sport!  The Canton Sports Center is currently offering several programs, including: FREE Fun Days on April 18 from 5-7 pm  and May 22 from 9 am - 12 pm.  Lessons are currently available for 4-year-olds to adults, plus don't forget the summer camp opportunities.  Find additional tennis program information here.  For more information, contact the Canton Sports Center  at 734/483-5600.

Get Golf Ready & Golf For Women

Are you looking for a great way to learn the game of golf? Pheasant Run Golf Club’s ‘Get Golf Ready’ is designed to give beginning golfers the basic understanding of golf fundamentals, etiquette, and the rules of the game. Players will also experience on-course instruction. Fees are just $99 per student. Sessions will run Thursday evenings from May 6 through June 3 from 6-7 p.m.  ‘Golf for Women’ is designed to support women entering the game and will teach participants everything they’ll need to play in just a few lessons. Participants will gain insight into techniques regarding chipping, putting, full swing, half swing, and bunker play, as well as the fundamental guidelines regarding the use and maintenance of golf equipment, keeping score, and navigating the course, among others. Sessions will be held Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. from May 4 through June 1 for just $99 per student. Call Pheasant Run Golf Club at 734/397-6460 to sign up today! 

Fellows Creek Golf Club

Fellows Creek Golf Club Tournament

On Friday, May 14, Fellows Creek Golf Club will host a 9-Hole Par 3 Tournament starting at 5:30 p.m. This 9-hole event is designed for two-player teams. The winning team will earn a prize, and every hole will have closest-to-the-pin prizes. This event is $35 per player and will include a box-style dinner before the round and desserts after the round. One of our 9-hole courses will be turned into nine Par 3s ranging from short to long, but with the majority near 150 yards from tee to green. This event will be fun for golfers of all skill levels. Grab your buddy, your spouse, or even a guy or gal from work and come out for a good time.  Registration is required at fellowscreekgolf.com/events. Mom and Son Dance Participants

Mother/Son Dance Returns

Moms, Aunts, Grandmothers, and more are invited to attend an afternoon of dancing and memory-making with their favorite little guy on Saturday, May 22, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. or 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the new Preservation Park outdoor pavilion and the Cady-Boyer Barn, located at 500 Ridge Road. Light refreshments will be available, as well as the popular balloon-drop finale! Souvenir photos may also be purchased for an additional cost at the dance.  All ages require a ticket and sales will begin online April 15 and end on May 19.  Per person fees are $11.50 for Canton residents and $14.50 for non-residents.  Advanced ticket purchase is required and space is limited to the first 200 guests per time. This year’s dance will feature a Beach Party theme, so feel free to dress the part! This event’s rain date will be held on June 5.
