Summit on the Park to Reopen Starting Monday, October 5, the Summit on the Park will open its doors to members during new business hours: Monday - Friday from 6 a.m to 8 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members will have access to strength and fitness center equipment, as well as the walking track. The Aquatic Center will remain closed for significant capital improvement projects, including replacement of the roof, and is anticipated to reopen in early 2021. All Summit on the Park memberships, which have been frozen since the facility’s closure due to the global pandemic, will be re-activated and extended accordingly once a member first returns to the Summit. Memberships will remain frozen for those members who do not feel comfortable returning to our facility at this time. Find all Summit on the Park re-opening information at www.summitonthepark.org.

Halloween Programming Are you counting down to Halloween? If so, Canton Leisure Services has put together some fun and safe fall programming! Canton’s Once Upon a Halloween Virtual Storytelling Series will take place on select Thursday evenings in October from 7-8 p.m. Participants can turn down the lights and gather around the glow of their computer screens as our live line-up of storytellers shares their favorite scary stories and experiences. Bring a wrapped gift for a child or infant being treated at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan. These non-medical supplies are an important part of the healing process. A variety of individual sessions are still available at either the Heritage Park Amphitheater or the Summit Community Courtyard, located in the Summit on the Park's West Parking Lot. End of Market Season CelebrationBe sure to stop by the Canton Farmers Market every Sunday now through October 25th, when we wrap up our season. Dress the kids in their Halloween costumes and bring them to our last market of the season for a chance to win this year's costume contest. 18th Annual Virtual Turkey Trot Lace up your running shoes for a good cause and register for Canton’s annual Turkey Trot 5 K and 1K, which will have a new look this year as a virtual event. Participants can keep Canton’s family Thanksgiving tradition going by registering for this week-long virtual event, which will be held any time from November 19-26 and will once again support the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan. Fees are $25 for the 5K and $15 for the 1-Mile run. Register by November 9 to get a guaranteed Race T-Shirt. This year’s event will include: custom bibs, raffle prizes, video ceremonies, grand marshal, and special guest virtual visits.
