[ARCHIVED] GFL will continue storm damage collection this week

Due to the excessive amount of storm damage debris, GFL was unable to collect everything on Saturday, March 18.  They have been working through the week to collect what was left behind.
Most of Canton has already been collected. Only a portion of Tuesday and Thursday's routes and Cherry Hill Village remains. GFL anticipates all storm debris pickup to be completed by Friday.  If your subdivision has already been collected, please wait until the week of April 3 to put out additional twigs/branches/limbs.
All debris must be manageable in size with cut ends facing the curb. Small branches/twigs should be tied or bundled. Please note, manageable means any twigs or branches that can easily be carried to the curb.  If GFL crews are unable to lift heavy branches into the truck, they will not be collected.
We are seeing a lot of large tree limbs and branches piled over 5 feet high left at the curb. GFL will NOT be able to collect this.  Residents will need to work with their HOAs or a private landscaping company for removal.  Residents may also use the dumpster in front of Canton Public Works, 4847 Sheldon Road, to drop of storm debris.  It will be available March 20-26.
If you were unable to get branches/limbs cut and at the curb, please remember that yard waste pickup begins the week of April 3. Brush and branches may be disposed of on your weekly trash collection day provided it is broken down and placed in garbage cans, paper compost bags or tied in bundles of less than four feet in length and less than 50 pounds.
